Quote (…) In East-Germany, André-Luc Appietto, whose Paton was broken, used this same device [to change the numbers, yellow for green, on his 250cc bike for the 500cc race, hence earning a well deserved second entry money of the day] and raced both races with his 250 Morini.

That is what Jacques Bussillet writes in his "L'Âge d'or du Continental Circus", 2015. A well respected journalist, now retired but still very active, for instance on Pit-lane, Jacques Bussillet witnessed what he is talking about: he was there, on summer of 1969, with Appietto at the Sachsenring paddock.

And now we know why this 'Paton', sporting yellow numbers, was not Paton green, but Morini red: it is a 250 Morini in disguise!

(We know also that it was Attilio Damiani's bike before arriving in France.)
