This episode was about Bobby Joe Long who was responsible for the murders of nine women in Tampa, Florida from the 27th March to the 11th November 1984.

Prior to the spree, Bobby Joe Long was responsible for at least 50 rapes that he committed in Fort Lauderdale, Miami-Dade County, Miami and Ocala in 1981, those charges were dropped when he was granted a new trial.

He was also responsible for the rape of a young woman that he committed during the robbery of the woman's home in Long Beach, California, but those charges were never pursued by the local authorities.

His 10th victim, 17-year-old Lisa McVey had already experienced abuse in the years leading up to her abduction on the 3rd November 1984.

At the age of 14, McVey's alcoholic and drug addicted mother had forced McVay to move in with her grandmother.

In the years leading up to her abduction, McVey's grandmother's boyfriend would routinely sexually abuse McVey at gunpoint to a point where on the night before her abduction, McVey had written out her suicide note.

After being held for 26 hours, McVey was released and when she came home, her grandmother's boyfriend had assaulted McVey even when she told him about her abduction.

McVey then reported her abduction to the Sheriff Department who believed her when they recovered fibers on her clothes that matched to the fibers recovered from the victims that Long killed.
