My money is on a real Kubel that had been modified with a new dashboard and steering wheel at some point. Despite the dashboard there are a lot of details that spot on, like inside the doors, the windscreen and front area. You can see the front is a little dented and the number plate has been painted over, if you were making a replica with this much detail you wouldn't get the dash so wrong.

and back in 1970 it was much easier to get the real thing + it was en vogue to "update" today absolut no go.

So maybe we can identify it as /vehicles_make-Volkswagen_model-K%FCbelwagen.html until somebody proves otherwise?

For me body seems original, proportion seems perfect, the rest is only bad cinema preparation, like : ugly side running boards ( never exist ); awful dashboard, not real german WW2 military marking....will say no even in this sate to have it in my garage...a good restoration with Tchekian remade kubel parts, and as new like from Wolfsburg factory, sorry Fallersleben for WW2 period ! take care : )
