RushCars24ID ◊ 2025-07-26 13:35	Not F20, this is Indonesia, called the Taft here (Made for RI, imported from Japan but specs were differed than the source country, no local assembly here). That's the facelifted diesel-only model by the front fascia, 1979-1984 [F50]. The F20 is a 1.6-litre 12R-J gasoline model, which generally, that engine (along with its supporting code) was never sold here in Indonesia. Few example sources that confirms Taft nameplate used in this model in Indonesia: Mobil Motor Lama, Indonesian Wikipedia, OtoSeken, Carmudi Indonesia RushCars24ID wrote Initially sold here starting with the 1976-1979 model, with a 1.0-litre FE gasoline engine bearing the [F10] code being the only engine option. This one here appears to be (if local sources were correct) a 1979-1984 model with the [F50] code by the front fascia, the one switched to the sole 2.5-litre DG diesel engine which gained further popularity than the F10 model. This one shown here has the fixed hardtop, which Astra Daihatsu Motor often used 'Taft Deluxe' in its marketing materials and brochures, although I found at least one brochure without the 'Deluxe' prefix applied (see second thumb below). Don't know either if that version got multiple trims or that's the sole trim or Daihatsu retroactively used the 'Deluxe' prefix as part of the model name. Without further more sources to back this up, remains a moot point for now; feels like had to double-check YouTube later for a few locals whose posted digital compilations of its brochures (apart from the examples below)... clara1571 wrote '79-'85 Daihatsu Taft [F50]. Next time, please provide some various sources and local brochures like I did above if you think you've found it. A simple guess like that won't work and remains very confusing. Can't you see we have a bunch of non-expert users who don't know the Indonesian automotive industry very well?
