Wouldn't it be a 2004 model then, as the E90 is the 2005 model?

I suppose so. I'm just going off what carjam brings up when I enter the plate number. It lists it as a 2005 model.

By the way, even though E90 sedan production began in December 2004 in Germany, this car is made in South Africa. It's highly probable that E46 production continued a little longer there. Also, remember that in the USA, the 2005 model is still the E46, while the 2006 is the E90.
