Edinburgh, coming down to The Mound with Scott Monument behind (it's actually a Victorian rocket made of stone, so was too heavy to fly. To cover their embarrassment they renamed it as a memorial).

Agreed Commer Superpoise, definitely not a Bedford.

...also a Q4 Superpoise 6-8 ton tractor unit.

Date reassigned from 1945 to 1939 from dateable plate seen in source clip.

Does that affect ID as Superpoise Q4???

^ No problem, Q-series Superpoise was introduced April 1939

Because the Q-series was introduced almost exactly when the movie vehicle was registered, I took a look at the movie on the BFI Player.

The result was its not a Commer Q-series cab after all; the depth of the side glass, door profile and handle position confirm its a 1937 Morris Commercial CV ("Equi-Load" so semi-forward control like the Commer). The 8-stud wheels says its probably based on the 4 or 5 tonner short wheelbase chassis.

The door compared with the Commer Q-series cab.

When compared with the Morris-Commercial CV door.
