1993-4 Dodge Spirit or Plymouth Acclaim -- Last edit: 2014-06-09 17:30:09 |

I say Plymouth Acclaim and here's my thinking - this car has the optional "Gold Appearance Group", which was the same on both cars except for the wheels. The Dodge had 14" "teardrop" rims (which were sort of like ninja stars) with gold accents while the Plymouth had more conservatively styled, 14" "bullet" rims with gold accents. The gold accenting on the Plymouth wheel was more conservative too, creating a narrower band of gold when the wheel was spinning and that's what i think I see here. |

Following your thinking...Starting in 1993, the Acclaim was offered with a "Gold Package". This included gold pinstripes, gold bodyside trim, and gold-accented alloy wheels accented with gold paint. On the Spirit hand.... Spirit was offered with a Gold package similar to that offered on the 1993-94 Plymouth Acclaim. This included goldtone-trimmed alloy wheels and gold pinstripes. |

On most of the examples I can find, it looks like the Acclaim had the pinstripe and the Spirit did not. |

The Standard Catalog of American Cars details the gold package for both vehicles but makes no mention of pinstriping so it may have been a seperate option for all trim levels. If that's the case then the presence or absence of pinstripes may not help. Also, the package was only offered in 1994 and on the few 1995's that went out the door. |

This is 100% a Limited Edition Special Gold Package Acclaim. Here is the 1993 brochure breaking down the packages: Link to "www.ebay.com" |
