Not a Cortina, and I don't think Capri either.

I owned a 1974 Capri V6 (with the big U.S.-mandated 5mph bumpers). I loved that car! When I bought it, used, I was told to get one imported from Germany (I did), not one produced in England! The picture is not very good, but the headlights look like my car. However, the grille does not. So, I don't know.

galloper's photo is great! It IS a Capri. Same colour as mine. The only problem I had with that car was that it blew its voltage regulator on a regular basis. But that V6 was nice...

I now vote US Capri (make) Mk2 - flare on rounded wheel arch, door shape is wrong for Mk1 - curving outline for door panel top instead of straight and no bulge on rear edge for Mk1 side crease. But - to confuse visually - has pinstriping which looks like Mk1 crease.

Yes, dsl, you're right. It's a Mk2. The door shape where it meets the glass is straight on the Mk1, curved on the Mk2. In the U.S. and Canada, the Capri was sold under the Mercury banner. I used to get parts at a Mercury dealership.

In the late '70's/early '80's, the Mercury Capri became a Mustang clone.
