What's visible of rear bumper makes me think 1974. |

It's a 1974 Dodge Dart Sport with the 225 Slant 6 Cylinder engine. And what makes it a '74 is not the rear bumper, but the fact that the DODGE word is on the driver side of the car just above the grill. 1973 Dart Sport didn't have that. The Dart Sport was only made for 3 years from '73 -'76 and for 1974 and 1975 it had DODGE between the grill and the hood on the driver side. The 1975 and 1976 Sport had a totaly different looking front clip. -- Last edit: 2014-12-18 03:35:27 |

I must take exception to that, Benny. Here is a link to the 1973 Dodge brochure: Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" It clearly shows the Dodge nameplate is also present in the same location on the front of the '73 Darts including the Sport. The rear bumper was strengthened for '74 in response to government mandate. -- Last edit: 2014-12-18 03:59:47 |

The 6 Cyl Dart Sport only had the DODGE name plate in the spot only in '74. The V8 model had it in that location in '73. -- Last edit: 2015-01-12 08:00:24 |

Thanks. I guess the brochures just used V-8 Sport models to photograph. Seems odd, though. Why should the engine determine the make name placement, and then just on one series? May I ask your source for this information? |
