It seems to be a Seddon, but I don't know the model. Here're two pictures http://www.flickr.com/photos/edward_beck/8542064822/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/edward_beck/8546712842/ .

Probably Seddon 13-4 like http://maltabuses.piwigo.com/picture?/7880 ?

Definetly Seddon, think 13-4 will do it .
The bin wagons often used to carry S.A.M. badges for Seddon Atkinson Municipals like the malta pic in previous post.

Repeat appearance at start of every episode so far as a running theme, often with nuns (connection never explained).

This is a SAM Colectomatic 3000 refuse body, the last incarnation introduced by Jack Allen (badged on Seddon chassis' as Seddon Allen Municipals) during the mid-seventies to match the latest development of Heil's Collectomatic body (which this U.K. market model was based upon), known as the Mark III.

Finally a decent picture from S1 ep5 - have substituted previous main. Looks as if comments above were spot on for SAM badge etc - can someone give exact text for best ID (eg is make just Seddon or Seddon Allen Municipals?)?? DVLA details for BOK 303V (as SEDDON/ATKINSON) are:
Date of Liability 01 07 1989
Date of First Registration 09 11 1979
Year of Manufacture 1979
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 5800cc
CO₂ Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type HEAVY OIL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour RED (to be pedantic, the Birmingham Corporation/City Council livery was orange ...)
Vehicle Type Approval Not Available

Other pictures from S1 ep5:

(same location in university campus as S1 ep1, but different action sequence)
S1 ep 6:

No other vehicle shown at all in S1 ep5 or S1 ep 6.

S1 ep7 pics, including nuns with a huge ghettoblaster playing a Black Sabbath cassette:

2nd thumb is same as S1 ep3 sequence, but lorry in reverse direction. Ep7 has some slightly odd footage, filmed on a sunnier day than other eps. In the close-ups, the lorry is now uniquely clean and has the same registration but the font is different. Looks same truck details and type - anyone spot any other difference?? - so could easily be the same one, but filmed later for some reason with a new plate - or a substitute with a replacement film plate??
