Identified by longer wheelbase, higher ground clearance (note the gap in the front wheel arch), and slightly different headlights that protrude from the front wheel arches. Otherwise, the truck is very similar to the T-900. The C-501 was introduced in late 1992 (or early 1993 - see comment below), along with the T-950 and T-900 (in 1991) - part of the new generation of Australian-designed Kenworths. All 3 models replaced the previous W-900 models, which were discontinued in 1987. Chronology: C501 - 1993-2008 C508 - 2008-2010 C509 - 2010-present (gained new cab in 2014) Note: some sources say this truck was introduced to the first customers in 1993, and also the vehicle registration database shows no 1992 C-501s registered in Australia, only 1993+ models. -- Last edit: 2026-03-13 15:09:35
