I am the semi-proud owner of that minor action vehicle! They rented it from me for 3 weeks while filming near Pittsburgh, PA. The transportation guy had told me that it was going to be a "hero" car in all kinds of scenes...but it really was not after editing. He described a scene that created a blooper because an actor fell out of the car when the opposite door was slammed! That was hilarious to me because the latch on the drivers side is weak and pops open sometimes. Too bad they do not have bloopers on the DVD's like they used to. I literally stayed up for almost 48 hrs prepping this car for them because I had it painted a year prior and stored it still needing brake work and some other work. Interestingly enough, when I got it back, they had fixed a bunch of little things on it that I did not have time to tinker with...probably the work of an old school VW wizard that was part of the crew! |
