dsl ◊ 2013-06-18 20:50	For the plot this should be London - Ramsey hires the yellow Astra here and drives to Derbyshire Peak District - but I did wonder about where this actually was. It's next to a city roundabout with lots of (Midlands-ish or further north?) red brick buildings and a pub with the Bass logo. There is no Manchester connection in the story, but I did not see this as London.
dsl ◊ 2013-06-19 22:21	Update: have realised that some non-specific continuity sequences of cars driving down urban roads are filmed in Manchester, so tali's suggestion may well be true.

dsl ◊ 2013-06-20 22:12	@tali - the sequence starts in a street with the "New Regent Hotel" - /vehicle_605582-Rover-3500-SD1-1981.html - with the blue Cav waiting outside. It drives - apparently - a very short distance to a big traffic-lighted junction (not roundabout as I said above) and turns left to pull into a layby immediately opposite the garage on the far junction corner. Something like this:
