I think it's a V8, maybe a Vantage. I hope that the crashed one was a replica... -- Last edit: 2013-05-29 18:04:39 |

CGI for the crash. Has a Vantage bodykit but the bonnet is from a 1973-78 model V8 (Vantage models would have the power bulge closed off). |

Obviously And a mock-up for the wrecked one. |

I only pointed it out as Aolju thought it was a replica. Though I guess I misunderstood his post. Crashed vs Crashing. |

Aston Martin V8s are still pretty valuable, they wouldn't destroy one just for a movie. These were really expensive cars when new, more expensive than things like Porsches or even Ferraris I think. -- Last edit: 2013-05-30 19:53:52 |

The flying one looks wrong - rear cut-off should be more vertical and rear side window shape not right. It smells Capri Mk1 in that picture, which might work for the wreck as well. |

The crash looks CGI to me |

The crash is CGI, for sure. Only the start of the rollover is seen (and looks fake), then the scene cuts and you see the (mock-up) car on its roof. For a comedy movie that does not have a huge budget, it is quite enough. I find that better than some blockbuster which would have a 5-second crash that needed to destroy three cars to achieve a not-much-better result. -- Last edit: 2013-05-30 15:52:08 |

No rear spoiler means it's not a vantage. V8 with a vantage nose? |

Not a Vantage - no rear spoiler, wrong bonnet but has Vantage front bodykit. Bonnet matches V8 Mk3 and has new-for-Mk3 onwards removal of vents on panel between boot and rear window. BBS wheels were fitted 86+ (V8 Mk5/Vantage Mk2) so part of the updating exercise on this Mk3. |
