Sandie ◊ 2013-05-11 00:58	Yes, based on the Hijet. Daihatsu stopped making them a while ago but Piaggio continued. Not sure when imports to the UK commenced. Early-2000s I think.

dsl ◊ 2024-07-26 23:13	Piaggio Porters introduced here Jan 01 - Van, chassis cab, pick-up, Big Deck pick-up, Minibus, Tipper - all 1.5 tonnes. Early ones were 1371cc diesel 38 bhp, Jan 04 1300cc petrol 65 bhp added, Jan 08 the petrol added a 4wd option, plus an electric 14 bhp tyre-burner appeared. No info what happened later. Meanwhile Daihatsu Hijets were also listed with similar range of bodies but only 1295cc petrol 65 bhp plus similar petrol/LPG, at least until Jan 03 - again no later info.
