It's probably the same as here in the states and it comes down to what the first owner wrote down on its first registration |

Maybe it was built on a maroon Granada which was registered before the hearse conversion? (which included a repainting) |

From what I know of hearses, they usually get the base car in the color of the actual hearse. |

Not neccessarily. Some hearse-makers took accident-cars with a demolished back. The low price was crucial, not the colour. |
