This Scala is made for Mexico, Egypt and Colombia. But according to Renault itself (fr), the Renault Scala is also a Nissan Latio/Sunny based car made only for the Indian market. Well it's quite simple: The Samsung N17 is made on a Nissan G10 basis, which is another name for the... Nissan N16 code... So Samsung N17 = Nissan N16, and Nissan N17 = itself Maybe some marketing engineers from Renault-Nissan are taking more or less legal products that are too strong for them  More serious, both chassis are used: - the Egyptian/South American Renault Scala is made from a 1st generation Samsung SM3, which means it has a Nissan N16 chassis; - the Indian Renault Scala is a Nissan Latio based car (in fact, it looks more like a rebadging...), i.e. a Nissan N17 basis; - but even if they are Renault cars, none of the two should have an X or N-Something Renault code, as N16 and N17 would mean in Renault language (fr) they would be long chassis buses based on a never released prototype (16) and on a 1980 to 1999 Dacia (17)...
