Were all Fiat 124 in Bulgaria Pirin-Fiats or was there an import of Italian Fiats or Shigulis from the big COMECON-brother USSR? |

In the period from 1967 to 1971, we assembled Fiat 124 (under the brand Pirin-Fiat). After 1971, we started to import VAZ 2101 Zhiguli (later Lada 1200/1300 but still called "Zhiguli" in popular culture). |

I rented a Pirin-Fiat 124 on holiday in 1971 (see /vehicle.php?id=128076 ) just as Bulgaria started to import the Zhiguli; rental cars were Pirin-Fiats, taxis in Varna were Zhigulis. |
