this one is a 1997 Western Star 5964SS, as it has the older stlye stacks and the only year the 5964SS' were like that was in 1997 |

This is actually a 2000 according to the two auction sites it was sold on. |

They had quite a just like it over the years ranging from atleast 1996 to atleast 2005 The one Hugh Rowland bought that Rick Yemm and later Derek Vivier drove was T-43 to the fleet -- Last edit: 2025-06-18 08:56:45 |

Hugh Rowland bought this truck as an expansion for his fleet of Ice Road Trucks back in the fall time of 2009 and than Rick Yemm ended up driving this truck on the show for both Season Five and Season Six back in 2012 and 2013 A year later during Season Seven this truck was seen being driven by Derek Vivier back in 2014 and than it was driven by Derek Vivier again for the 2015 Ice Road Season in Winnipeg, Manitoba off of the cameras Despite what was edited on the show Rick Yemm never bought this truck nor never leased this truck from Hugh Rowland Hugh Rowland just supplied a truck to the production company for Rick Yemm to drive on the show of Rick's Choice for Season Five and Season Six VP Polar was also first established back in 2006 by Vlad Pleskot himself and the only thing that Hugh Rowland to do with VP Polar was that he supplied the trucks for the drivers to drive on the show Today Hugh Rowland runs his fleet of Ice Road Trucks on the Yellowknife Ice Roads and this would be one of those trucks as he still owns this truck to this day This truck was a former Winalta Transport LTD out of Acheson, AB in which this truck would of been what was known as T-43 to the Winalta Transport Fleet The Winalta Transport Fleet had plenty of Western Stars of this style in their fleet that all had the same exact stripe that were in the same two colors The truck has a N14 525HP Cummins Engine with a 18 Speed Transmission -- Last edit: 2025-11-16 13:21:36 |
