Why? (on all three counts). How can you tell it's not a 1980 model? Also, I ask about 9C6 as I have never been able to find any documentation that shows the 9C6 designation before the 1986 models. |

For one thing, this is a real NYC Taxi. 2. 1981 was a typo on my part. 3. I thought the 9C6 models started in 1985. All Caprice and Impala NYC Taxis were 9C6's in the 1980's as far as I know. I don't think NYC never ordered base models for taxis. So you're saying it could be a 1986 9C6 model (since this is a real model)? |

Oh no, what I was trying to say is that so far I have only been able to trace the 9C6 designation back to the 1986 Caprice due to a brochure I once saw on the net. I don't know if it was used before. Of course NYC has always used base model vehicles for their taxis, I don't disagree with that. I'm just unsure about the particular designation. |
