At first as CKD, and in 1957 the real production started, with 80% of local produced pieces. Like in the USA, the sales denomination was just Willys. But unlike in the USA, the CJ-5 info never appeared in Brazilian brochures nor in the ads, neither as model nor as chassis code. The vehicle was just called 'Jeep' Universal or more simply Jeep.
