The distinctive lower edge of the windscreen appears to confirm it as an Electron Minor. Year about 1958 onwards although I cannot find any definative details on model years. |

Year from registration is 1963-1964 |

Wouldn't 1963 we FWY ???A? This is a pre-'63 car. |

Not necessarily. IIRC only Middlesex and Staffordshire issued A registrations in 1963. Most authorities started issuing year-lettered registrations in 1964 but some only on 1.1.65. |

Year letters, as chris40 said, were not compulsory until 1965, so licencing continued in many areas without the year identifier during 1963 and 1964 and very few using the 'A' series. In the case of '??? FWY', I have located cases where registrations in the series '5?? FWY' for example were first registered in March 1964. Unless there was a gap in registrations issued this car was probably only registered in the same year as the documentary (1963). (WT, WU, WW, WX and WY were issued West Yorkshire according to my information but Leeds from 1974.) |
