The CUCV M-1008 had GM’s 6.2 liter 379ci V-8 diesel engine, three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission, and two-speed dual range New Process 208 transfer case. The 4x4 system was part-time selectable conventional four-wheel drive. It did not have shift-on-the-move capability like it’s civilian counterparts.
