By the wheels? They were not optional? A bit better view of the badge... Similar to 230, but I will not insist. EDIT: More than sure, the same car played also in "Czarodziej z Harlemu" - the "280" badge is better visible there. EDIT 2: I moved the better pic of rear badge into 1st comment. -- Last edit: 2018-11-12 21:03:53 |

These BBS-"baroque"alloys were always optional. Mercedes acted as same as the other German car-makers ever did (and are doing): every shittly little extra feature has to be paid extra. Annother extra, available mostly aftersales market, but at the Mercedes-dealer, too, was the wheel-arch-chrome. Loved by a few owners, disliked by the most others. For two reasons: a) it looks bling-bling. So it got the nickname "Zigeunerchrom" = "Gipsy's chrome", and b) it was often used by fraudulent used-car-dealers for covering damaged or rust-crispy wheelarches (here a reason to fail the TÜV-test). |

The chromed wheel arches are ok (well - "can be"), if it is just subtle thin slat, here they are too big. ![]() |

1980-1982 actually. I see straight headrests (1980+) but chromed air inlets for ventilation (280/280E only before 1983). -- Last edit: 2018-10-25 23:23:23 |
