All DeSoto hardtops had the Sportsman name. This car is neither a Fireflite nor a Firedome; it's a lowly Firesweep distinguishable by the less swoopy front fenders shared with Dodge and Plymouth. |

A Firesweep ... yes. Lowly .... NO! I grew up with a '57 DeSoto Firesweep Sportsman four-door and believe me it was not lowly ... it could easily hold it's own on the highway at 75 MPH against other cars twenty years it's junior. -- Last edit: 2011-11-27 05:12:01 |
