the new 2011 model-year? or still the first generation? |

It's definitely a Touareg II like these: /vehicles_make-Volkswagen_model-Touareg+2.html However, I made a mistake. LLTeK is only the importer, the body kit is JE Design. http://www.lltek.com/volksgate/html/touareg_ii_by_je_design.htm |

These are not 2nd-gen (II) but 1st gen restyled ("Touareg 2" in USA/Canada, just for 2007-2008) |

All units have permanent full-time 4XMOTION® four-wheel-drive with two-speed transfer gearbox and planetary center differential with lockup clutch pack. For some reason, Volkswagen did away with the optional locking rear differential. It is no longer available. Since neither a limited-slip or locking rear differential is available, traction control is used in their place to transfer torque between the drive wheels. Traction control transfers torque from side-to-side while 4XMOTION® transfers torque front-to-rear or vice versa. |

It has the same aftermarket Toyo Tires® Open Country M/T™ (Mud Terrain) that the 2007 Ford Expedition EL had in I Am Legend (2007) They are an ultra high-performance dedicated off-road type tire, extremely aggressive in design. Its mainly used by off-road enthusiasts. http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/open-country-mt The aftermarket wheels also appear to be the same American Racing® Fuel Series 321 alloy wheels used on the Expedition EL. I doubt they are the exact same wheels as the lug pattern would not match. The Expedition and Touareg are two completely different vehicles. -- Last edit: 2010-09-16 23:50:03 |

Why does it need the air intakes behind the windows? |
|

It doesn't need it, it's just mounted. |

I think they actually sporting a bodykit by the german tuner ABT, recognizeable by the rear bumper, the white LED-Spotlights under the doors and the exhaust. Although it is possible that the prop-department combined two bodikits from different tuning companies. |
