W czasie Powstania pojazd pełnił funkcje transportowe." http://odkrywca.pl/pokaz_watek.php?id=105839 (This is an armored car built on chassis Chevrolet 157. The vehicle was made during the occupation in Koncesjonowana Wytwórnia Samochodów, the capital branch of the "Lilpop, Rau i Loewenstein" (perhaps built more than one). Was intended to carry money in the postal financial service. During the uprising served as a vehicle of transport.) |

S-Series with a 157" / 3.99 m wheelbase, not a "157". The dual rear wheels give it then the SD model code. |

Polish made ones were mostly named "Chevrolet 157" or "Chevrolet typ 157" (sometimes in adverts they were named by the load capacity or chassis lenght in meters, but for some reasons it was less common). In case of older and recent dedicated to this subject literature (and there are at least few detailed books about 1920s-30s auto-industry), in all known to me examples, they are named "Chevrolet 157" too (and most of other Polish/LRiL made GM trucks/buses were/are named according to the same system - so number taken from lenght of wheelbase in inches). -- Last edit: 2020-05-30 16:14:14 |
