This is from a Chevrolet promotional film shot in the fall of 1962 to introduce the revolutionary 1963 Corvette Sting Ray. Both cars were hand-built pre-production models, the red coupe with a 360 hp fuel-injected 327 V8 and four-speed, the silver convertible with the base 250 hp V8 (also 5.3 liters) and Powerglide automatic transmission. Both cars featured the optional knock-off aluminum wheels with prototype 2-bar spinner nuts. Very few if any 1963 Corvettes were delivered with these wheels because of air leakage through the castings. They became available in 1964, but with 3-bar spinners, and were available through 1966.

The cars were demonstrated by American race drivers Dr. Dick Thompson and Dave MacDonald, who were interviewed by Corvette chief engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov.

The eight-minute short was produced by Jam Handy, an industrial film company. I believe it was shot at GM's test track in Michigan.
