1964+ Panel Van. Was it converted for a Camper or is the Typ 1-roof just a loke? Btw. in the 70ies there were some conversions like that, also in Germany. Often with Beetle-tops, but sometimes with Citroen 2 CV- or Renault 4-roofs, too. |

Sure, these were all self-made. Not illegal in Germany. Just the different height of the car has to be remarked in the papers, the rest doesn't matter. It was ideal to make the conversion -with add-on roof or not- that the vehicle was usable as a Camper. A registration as a Camper saves insurance and tax, compared with a normal Van. |
