Looks like stock footage from the 1980s because of the yellow New York plates: http://www.worldlicenceplates.com/jpglps/USA_NY_GI6_1960%27s-80%27s.jpg |

Abbreviated bumpers but gille does not appear eggcrate. I would say '88 or '89. I also see no grille nameplate, so would go with 1988 listing. -- Last edit: 2010-02-09 00:06:42 |

But the car can't be later than 1985 (unless the makers of the movie this footage is lifted from needed to make it look older) because it has a yellow New York plate. The white plates with the Statue of Liberty were introduced in 1986 (and lasted until 2000). http://www.worldlicenceplates.com/usa/US_NYXX.html -- Last edit: 2010-02-11 21:35:42 |

Again, my monitor is not entirely clear. If it does have an eggcrate grille, then would be '85 to '87, but the bars look straight vertical on my computer = '88 or 89. 1989's had a Lincoln nameplate in the grille and I don't see one in the picture. |

The movie ends in 1993 and starts about three years earlier. This might be stock footage but there's no difference in quality. They did generally pay attention to get the cars accurate. See the Peugeot 505 that keeps hanging behind in one scene. This is the clearest I can get it: -- Last edit: 2010-02-11 23:03:11 |

Now in that view it DOES look like an eggcrate style grille. Would change the range to '85 to '87. |
