There were aftermarket conversions available since the third generation came out in 1982. many of them were sold in GM dealerships as brand new cars. The car in the photo is definitely not an 1987 - it has a 1982-84 exclusive Z28 hood (thinner inset scoops rather than louvers) and 1982-84 exclusive Z28 front fascia (angular grille and deep inset blinkers). The side skirts are also not as tall as later production years. This is clearly an 82-84 Z28 with a third-party soft top conversion. -- Last edit: 2010-02-06 01:43:56
