1942 Studebaker President Skyway Land Cruiser 4-door sedan ( series 5C-eight). It was Studebaker's most expensive model in 1942.It is a relatively rare model, since Studebaker mainly concentrated efforts on its cheap Champion line |

The 1942 President and Commander were produced with the Land Cruiser body. e.g. rear doors hinged on the center piller. Three model designations, Skyway, Custom, Deluxe. The trim under the window openings and the wide rocker panel molding in the photo are the trim of the Custom. It is not a Skyway. It can not be determined from the photo if it is a President or Commander. I best quess is that it's a Commander. The front fender opening to the rear of the fender of the President would be much longer. The President had a straight eight which required a longer front clip. |

Well, I think the Lt. Col. is right: 1942 Skyway Series Studebaker Commander (Link to "www.autohistorian.net"). |
