Exiled in USA. An AEC STL?

Looks like an ex London RLH to me. AEC Regent III with lowbridge Weymann body. Not an STL, very few STLs have survived.

I've taken a liking to these AEC Regents, and yeah, I was thinking this must be an ex-London Transport vehicle as it has four rather than five passenger windows along the lower deck. Looks to be a cheap half-paint job over the original red.

4runneradam wrote I talked with him just now. I showed him this picture, and he said "yea, thats it". 1952 model. I wrote down the MXX231 number and told him to see if thats whats on it. He says he has the title for it, and it "starts and runs" but that was likely 20-30 years ago.
