Help needed:-![]() ![]() Matchbox released this 'General Service Lorry' in 1959. (No Make or Model given) As with all my diecast collection, i'm still trying to find the correct names for many vehicles. A couple of times i've seen this listed as an AEC, but I can't find any photo's to confirm this. Can anyone help please? Thanks |

Stronghold, for your information, The Matchbox model is not of the 10 ton GS Militant, The 10Ton GS was a longer wheelbase, and the rear wings where flat panels that came down from the body, infront of and behind the rear wheels. The centre part of the mudguard on the 10 ton GS was formed by the body itself. The Matchbox model depicts the short wheel base AEC Militant Gun tractor version. It has curved rear mudguards that extend the length of the back bogey. The Gun tractor was built with both a wooden back body (the Heavy Anti Airraft artillery tractor role) and with a steel body in a medium/ heavy AAA artillery role. http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=7394 -- Last edit: 2010-01-01 17:30:20 |

06 YZ 32 was chassis number 08538429. The original WD census number given to this vehicle was H5471529 and would probably have been built late 1944 early 1945. Fate of this vehicle is not known. This is diesel chassis hence O853 -- Last edit: 2010-01-01 16:12:43 |
