1995-1998 model. Obviously newer than the Mercedes W140, the BMW E38 boasts a more mature design. Would get BMW's "HPS" system for the 1998 model year. A cosmetic update for the 1999 model year included new head & tail lamps. 2001 would be the last year model also boasting another cosmetic update featuring body colored front & rear bumper valances and rocker panels.
