Looks like aftermarket convertible. Comments?

Actually, they were all aftermarket conversions, as the 1984 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible wasn't built in-house by GM. The American Sunroof Corporation (ASC) made them, even though they were sold by the official Cadillac dealer network. Judged by the shape of the tonneau cover, this one ought to be one of these ASC conversions.

Quite late to this thread, but...

The "factory" 84/85 Eldo convertibles were done by ASC, yet Hess & Eisenheart still did conversions as well. Both companies started doing them sometime after the 79 body style was created, but ASC was selected by GM to do the "factory sanctioned/factory" conversions.

The quick way to tell is the H&E conversions have the low boot cover (ie. the line of the door carries all the way back to the trunk lid, while the ASC juts up to trunk level just behind the rear window. Other than that (and stack height) there's little visible difference.
:)
