Is this really made for GB? Seems to have LHD, and the license plate doesn't look British... I'd guess this is rather a 'normal' 353. Ah, I just found a drawing of the winning car of the 24th Tour de Belgique (1st under 1000 cc / group 2, equipe Hommel/Bork) in 1972. It has similar extra lights on the front. That was a 353 S, and the license plate is LJ24-14, so very close to the one shown here. Pretty sure it's a DDR plate. |

The number plate is certainly not British, and it looks to me at least like an East German one. |

Yes, the plate is the older GDR-style. "L" stands for "Bezirk Erfurt". With more knowledge about the GDR-system you can find out the exact town, too, due the second letter. Probably it was Eisenach, so probably a car from the Wartburg-factory. |
