Very nice It is a cabriolet version of the Simca 5, made by 'La Découvrable', 29, Avenue de Châtillon in Paris, as presented on the Salon de Paris in 1938. Since it is more than just an accessory on an existing car I'd propose to list it as 1939 - La Découvrable - Simca 5. So a new make! |

Is it just for the purpose of having a new make ( ), or did they intend to sell these under another make?(because listing it like that make it more difficult to find for people searching for Simcas) -- Last edit: 2009-03-04 14:33:28 |

There wee several companies that made conversions on a Simca 5; e.g. there was Siata-Eudel, with a similar Matford-like grille and a ohc-engine. Siata-Eudel had advertisments with just their name on it. But yes, I guess it would be better indeed to list this car as Simca 5 La Découvrable, to keep things less complicated. |
