'86-'90 Chevrolet Caprice

Indeed, but it would have to be a 1986-1989 since it doesn't have the door-mounted seatblets that the 1990 models had.

Looks like an authentic Chicago cab

This here is an authentic Chicago Checker Association Caprice 9C6. Hands down, no guesses. Delivered in 1988, these were phased out by 1997. I remember these would always run past my house along with the yellow cab Caprices. A memoir of an era in Chicago now long gone. Whoever posted this, thanks a bunch.

Did 9C6 cars have that style of side mirriors as optional for them?

That may have come as an option, as I did see a few yellow cab Caprices with these types of mirrors.

Are you absolutely sure about this being a 9C6 delivered in 1988? I mean couldn't it have been a Caprice that was acquired through another way? I'm sorry, but the mirrors are throwing me off a bit.

Okay. From doing my research, I found that the 9C6 has chrome fleet mirrors similar to the 9C1. These civilian style mirrors don't indicate a taxi package, but a civilian model retrofitted as a taxi. Good eye.
