'86-'90 Chevrolet Caprice |

Indeed, but it would have to be a 1986-1989 since it doesn't have the door-mounted seatblets that the 1990 models had. |

Looks like an authentic Chicago cab |

This here is an authentic Chicago Checker Association Caprice 9C6. Hands down, no guesses. Delivered in 1988, these were phased out by 1997. I remember these would always run past my house along with the yellow cab Caprices. A memoir of an era in Chicago now long gone. Whoever posted this, thanks a bunch. -- Last edit: 2009-01-24 17:04:47 |

Did 9C6 cars have that style of side mirriors as optional for them? |

That may have come as an option, as I did see a few yellow cab Caprices with these types of mirrors. |

Are you absolutely sure about this being a 9C6 delivered in 1988? I mean couldn't it have been a Caprice that was acquired through another way? I'm sorry, but the mirrors are throwing me off a bit. |

Okay. From doing my research, I found that the 9C6 has chrome fleet mirrors similar to the 9C1. These civilian style mirrors don't indicate a taxi package, but a civilian model retrofitted as a taxi. Good eye. |
