Well it's a long-wheel-base model, so I think it actually might have been a real NYC taxi at some point.

this is a genuine 2003 model Ford Crown Victoria, a genuine ex NYC taxicab..it was sold on E Bay Uk in 2007, Buy Now price was £12,000, no takers but was eventually bought for £8,000 by Stephen davis from Tyne and Wear in the UK..who currently (august 2009) owns the car...it was sold via a vehicle depot used by Pinewood Studios in the UK...the movie being shot in the UK.
Still attatched to the cabs inside were sticky pads used to secure cameras during filming and when purchased the car had 250,000 miles on the clock..the vehicle is being used as part of his advertising venture cabadvertising.co.uk
This very same taxi appears in the yet to be released Nic Cage movie "Kick Ass".
