Made specially for the movie as details from 2491tj "this was a genuine Austin K2 body transplanted by the props department on a Canadian Military Pattern 4x4 chassis in order to cope with some scenes where the original 4x2 couldn't go" edit: The desert scenes all have the specially made 4x4 version as far as I can see. The true Austin K2/y (4x2) ambulance carrying the same No.5 identification is seen here /vehicle_205495-Austin-K2-Y.html in earlier scenes. Other than the appearance of the front diff. and prop-shaft, the difference in the two versions can be seen by the 4x4 version having a bonnet ornament that is missing on the true Austin ambulance used. -- Last edit: 2008-12-20 17:15:46 |
