Well spotted, Raul1983 ![]() This is in fact an S&S of that time, but a way more expensive model than the eight-column hearse shown by the Herr funeral home. Seen here is a twelve-column hearse. S&S assembled their own chassis back then and offered the industry´s largest selection of custom carved funeral coaches with all carvings being carried out by hand. So if you don´t have an original sales catalog, you have no chance to find out the exact model name... What a shame I don´t own such a catalog! The S&S Model 245 looked quite similar, but had different carvings, same goes for the S&S Corinthian and the Westminster. I'm not completely sure about the model year, but 1918 appears plausible. By the way: Co-founder Mr. A. R. Scovill didn´t carry an "e" at the end. Anyway, this will be a new vehicle make on IMCDb and "1918 S&S Twelve Column Funeral Coach" will be correct. |
