That grille is from a Pontiac(what's left of it), and because it's mid-sized, I'm going to say it's either an early-1980's LeMans, or a mid-1980's Bonneville. Comments? -- Last edit: 2008-03-24 02:08:15 |

Seems to be more like strech form of GM X platform and the hood style, like Cadillac Seville ![]() |

I can't find pics of the hood, but Pontiac's X platform sedan appears to have been the Grand LeMans (The Grand LeMans only looks like this car in 1981). This site I will link to requires a great deal of concentration, because there are no thumbnail images of the pages, but this is the 1981 Pontiac brochure in full. Compare the Grand LeMans with the LeMans on pages 17 and 19, respectively. http://www.fvn.no/amcar/brochures/pontiac/81pontiac.html Here is the 1980 full line Pontiac catalog with over 50 pages with the same awful web navigation design. http://www.fvn.no/amcar/brochures/pontiac/80pontiac.html -- Last edit: 2008-03-24 02:51:45 |

Burt Reynolds appears in the 1981 on page 10! Very cool "Yellow Bird" pages 7 and 8 of the 1980. Grille is closer to page 15 of the 1980 catalog. Note also the area below the bumper divided into two parts. To settle all doubts, I would like to see an image of the nose of the 1981 Grand LeMans. I am sure glad they don't make them like they used to! -- Last edit: 2008-03-24 02:54:20 |

That's right, it's a 1980 Bonneville. The X platform car was the Phoenix. In 1980, it was the new FWD X platform. |

So in other word it is a full size vehicle instead! It is hard to visualize the size of the vehicle without the front headlight/grille assembly ![]() |

It's on the small end of the full size category. Probably no longer than 200 inches. -- Last edit: 2008-03-25 03:42:58 |

Hard to visualize the complete size with a crumpled rear end in any case! |
