Buick from either 1967 or 1968(I thought it was an Oldsmobile at first).

An Electra chassis was used by the very short lived Trinity Coach Co. of Duncanville/ Texas to make this "Trinity Triune" Ambulance.

And due to the grille it seems to be a 1967.

It's a 1968, not a 1967.

Here's a 1967 Wildcat converted into a funeral coach by Trinity Coach

And a link to a website with some information on these cars.

The ad shows the Trinity Royal with extended wheelbase. These were built on the Electra chassis. The movie features a short wheelbase Ambulance, and these were built as "Trinity Triune" on the Electra or Windcat chassis.

You´re right, it´s 1968 (I work on a different computer today ;) )

The car is already known in the club of which I´m the German representant. See Lou Farah´s 2nd last post on this site: http://www.professionalcar.org/forums/archive/index.php/t-4997.html

The car on the ad I showed is a Wildcat, The Electra has 4 portholes instead of the louvers in the lower front fenders. In 1965-68, the Wildcat and Electra shared their chassis from the front bumper to the rear wheels (which means they had the same 126" wheelbase). The Electra chassis was stretched only behind the rear wheels. The Wildcat Trinity coach I showed does have a stretched wheelbase, the text is blurry on the ad but if you look closely, you'll see it presents the car as a Wildcat.

Click on these thumbnails, you'll see the pictures of both models and their specifications.

The car is still listed as a 1967 Electra, it's a 1968 Electra.

Seems to be a big mess with Buick professional coaches and their chassis on occasion. ;)

Well, like I could tell here, in 1961 Flxible used LeSabre 2 door sedan stripped chassis supplied by Buick with Electra front end sheet metal and mechanicals. That was an information I got from Flxible production recordings.

Sorrily, I have no adequate recordings of the Trinity Coach Co. Anyway, when it comes to professional cars, there seem to exist as many rules as exceptions to these rules, so it could be a similar case in the ad, showing maybe an Electra with Wildcat trim, or a bespoke Wildcat Royal or whatever... I don´t know. Coachbuilt.com supports my statement regarding LWB Electras vs. SWB Electras & Wildcats, other literature sources deny this statement. The coachbuilt.com-text has been written by famous (and dearly missed!!!) professional car historian Bernie DeWinter IV.

So, whatever the story behind the story of this Electra/ Wildcat-matter is, the Starsky & Hutch ambulance is a 1968 short wheelbase Trinity body (see the shape of the rear side door) with 4 portholes (-> Electra), and these SWB bodies were called "Trinity Triune".

that's true, I have seen a 1965 Flxible coachthat was based on the Buick Wildcat and it featured an Electra 225 grille and front fenders...

But the 1967 ad I showed in my previous post said:

"Built on the award-winning Buick Wildcat chassis,..."

That is why I am pretty sure the car in this ad (not the featured car which is now correctly listed as a 1968 Electra) is built on the Buick Wildcat chassis...

Here's a model year 1968 Electra 225 ambulance. This car is registered as a "Buick Electra 225 Trinity Royal Ambulance" in The Netherlands:

There is a TRINITY ROYAL script in place of the factory ELECTRA 225 emblem:
(too bad that the current owner decided to mount those ugly after market rims)
