In the main picture, yes. But the smaller one you've got here is that of a full-size Oldsmobile Delta 88 or 98. |

1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Brougham/LS (The 1985 Delta 88 Brougham and LS got the eggcrate grille earlier seen on the 1980 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight. This one here is a Brougham or LS.) -- Last edit: 2009-08-23 03:29:32 |

It's alrady been identified, and it's not a Brougham LS, it's just a regular "Royale" model. All 1985 models had this grille. Brougham LS models had a vinyl roof and different taillight lenses. -- Last edit: 2009-08-23 03:36:40 |

The 1984 Royale had this grille: http://www.geting.se/viewimage.php?image=190090-84delta.jpg |

Yes, I know... and this is a 1985 model, as already I said. And by the way, the one in that picture is not a Royale, it is a Royale Brougham LS. -- Last edit: 2009-08-23 03:43:45 |

For 1985 Brougham and LS had this grille. The 1985 Royale had this grille: http://static.racingjunk.com/63/ui/0/51/0511957717170-1985-Olds-Delta-88.jpg Brougham and LS extras such as vinyl roof were options that could be deleted. |

I'm sorry but you're simply wrong all the way around. Let me explain... for 1985 there were 3 trim levels: - Royale - Royale Brougham - Royale Brougham LS ALL Royale Brougham LS models had a vinyl roof, full-red taillights, LS badges on the C-pillar, and "Royal Brougham" markings on the front fenders. They were STANDARD features, without them the car would be no different than either of the other trim levels. The car listed here does NOT have any of those features, so it is NOT a Royale Brougham LS. It may be a Royale or a Royale Brougham, but it is not a Royoal Brougham LS. End of story. I own a 1985 Oldsmbobile Full-Size Cars dealer sales brochure, along with a 1984 Delta 88 Royale Brougham LS brochure. Not to mention the fact that there was a 1985 Delta 88 Royale Brougham LS sitting in my driveway from June to July of this year that I drove every single week. I know what I'm talking about. -- Last edit: 2009-08-23 07:47:18 |

Why has it still not been changed to 1985? |
◊ 2009-08-24 17:28 |
Because nobody saw it and I was not on the site since 22/08 |

Ok, it's just that my other comments around that time were taken care of and this wasn't, thought it was missed is all ![]() And by the way the trim is still wrong, it should be listed as "Royale" only. -- Last edit: 2009-08-24 17:33:54 |

I did see this a few days ago and decided to look into it before doing any changes, but I didn´t have time at the moment. Back then there still was an old comment from taxiguy telling us that this car was a 1984 by the grille, that´s why the car was listed as a 1984 in the first place. This comment is now gone and later comments have been edited so rmbb1981´s comments seems strange. Anyway if you read rmbb1981´s comment he´s arguing primarily about the grille, not being a 1984 first and then not being a basic 1985 Delta 88 Royale. From what I can find that is correct, there were according to this source and this ad different grilles on the basic models: http://www.geocities.com/supremecpe/eightyeight/85.html Link to "www.autoshopper.com" About the vinyl roof, he´s claiming that it was possible to get the cars without this option. I couldn´t find anything about the LS when browsing now, but looking at some other years of the Delta 88 models it´s easy to get the impression that vinyl roof was a standard feature of the Brougham. They´re always pictured with one, but reading the list of equipment and options gives at hand that it´s an option. Most of the Broughams I´ve seen have had vinyl roofs so I guess it´s uncommon without, still it´s an option. And maybe it was possible even to get an LS without it if you didn´t want it. Here´s some samples out of Olds brouchures: 1980 http://amcar.fvn.no/brochures/olds/80olds/bilder/10.jpg 1981 http://amcar.fvn.no/brochures/olds/81bo_18.html 1984 http://amcar.fvn.no/brochures/olds/84olds/bilder/16.jpg So, judging by the grille of this taxi it would be a 1985 Delta 88 Royale Brougham. |
