This is a very new 1997 model. 1998 models went on sale in Europe in September 1997. Movie was shot from May to end of summer 1997.

behave or leave. nobody is curious about your comments in case you want to be rude.

It would greatly help if we all made an effort to also behave in not carelessly adding information, before doing sufficient fact checking. That is my problem right there, as most people should know the internet provides plenty of accurate information, as well as photographic evidence(factory stock, unmodified vehicles) for sources.

I suppose you mean the same INFORMATIVE comments which most of them weren't confrontational and just happened to be REMOVED recently. Virtually over 90% of correctly labeled '97 models are a result of my recent contributions. Threatening me and removing informative, non-aggressive comments of mine doesn't achieve anything. I only want to better this site, without needing the title or position of administrator. There have been many times in the past where I provide an accurate correction and it was ignored. This happens to other users unfortunately, which in turn leaves things unchanged for years until a "loud" secondary comment is made to change it. I am not being rude for the fun of it, as it seems the only way needed attention is brought to a correction is to be loud and vocal about it sadly. Those who correct information need to be on point and ready to analyze and change anything that's wrong.

the hostility is completely unnecessary. repeating suggested corrections MAY be necessary... but anger isn't. there is nobody here ~ Wickey near the top of the list ~ that doesn't care about having the listings be correct. unfortunately, sometimes it DOES take time, and repeated comments to get corrections made on an all volunteer international site. many times, there may be nobody monitoring the site at all, and other times, administrators may pop in and look at the last few comments without going any further back at all. repeating suggestions so that they get noticed, without elevating the issue to a confrontation, will get the job done just as quickly as becoming rude. i can tell you for certain, that i would have made the same corrections that i made for you tonight without the stress of the rude comments, and without the reaction of others to those comments. as for comments themselves that someone may have removed... unless they relate completely and specifically to how the appropriate year range, model, or trim level can be proven or determined, after the vehicle information is correct, it would be great if they were all removed... in my humble opinion. myself, i edited the hostility out of a comment or two, and left the valuable information. less clutter.

Have you seen the amount of vehicle on the site? :p How would you that only few people do heavy checks on each one.
Any help is welcome, but you have to understand that this site works like Wikipedia: it is the result of co-operative work, with errors which may occur and that we try to fix.
Also, infos posted are not especially "ignored" but just "missed", seeing the amount of comments made each day.
And if all years have to be changed for a model, it is faster to ask that rather than posting on each one. E.g. on another page you said there was no 1996 model; not at all or just no in USA? Else I can change all 1996 XK to 1997...

well, it seems, that carmaker1 only thinks he is always correct. f.e.: /vehicle.php?id=51923

I also saw and identified a few XK8/XKR on this site and the mistake he made there is quite an obvious one and does not make him an expert in my eyes. Also in Europe there was a 1996 XK8. The US ones may be marked as 1997, as they were sold since late 1996, but as 1997 model.
