Alexander ◊ 2007-10-11 18:03	This is the KAT II, a variant of the KAT I specifically built for the US Army and US Air Force. All four subversions were 8x8 named MAN 27.365 VFAE [550] (1981-90). The US Army got the M1001 (tractor) and M1002 (recovery), and the US Air Force received the M1013 (tractor/recovery) and M1014 (tractor). Here we see either the M1001 or the M1013. Details to differentiate the KAT II from the KAT I are the front mounted radiator, the shape of the front bumper and the shape of the spare wheel holder. Also this type of crane was not used on KAT I vehicles.
