Not Saviem? I see that a couple of them is listed as Renault and not Saviem, where is the difference? |

SAVIEM (Société Anonyme des Véhicules Industriels et d'Equipements Mécanique) was founded in 1955 when Renault, Latil and Somua merged. This knew company was a Renault company, then the Saviem product wear Renault logo. Then in 1978, Renault Vehicules Industriels was founded when Berliet merged with Saviem and both disapeared. A very good site on that (from The Nederlands, the best place to find good informations on French cars or trucks...) http://www.renaultoloog.nl/renaultoloog-english.htm |

I'm glad bref has cleared that up ... I've just trawled through all the SGs on the site; some of them have Saviem badges and some haven't; some have the Renault rhomb and some don't ... I wish they'd make their minds up ![]() |

Yes, I knew that bref - that's why I was suprised that some vehicles of this type are listed as Renaults - I believe it is simply a mistake -> /vehicles.php?make=renault&model=sg |

I'd still say: Renault rhomg makes it a Renault Super Goélette, no rhomb makes it a Saviem SG... |

But SG means Super Goélette no? ![]() For me pre-55 and post 1978 are Renault, others are Saviem |
