A 1970 Orbit Orange GTO Judge with Keystone mags was used in "2 Lane Blacktop". would be neat if they were the same car. Then again, maybe not. I wonder whatever happened to that car. |

This is the same car that used in "Two-Lane Blacktop"...it was a Universal Studios owned car. The studio finally sold it in 1988, that's the last anyone has seen of it. A picture of the car after it was sold: Link to "ultimategto.com" Note that on the site they call the car a Judge. It is, in fact, not a Judge, but a regular GTO with the "Rally II" side stripes and rear spoiler optioned in. Since Judges came with these pieces standard, they are too often associated with the Judge package. |

Well if it lasted that long surely somebody gave it a good home. These cars were going high in the late 80s. Keep in mind there were two GTOs for the 2 Lane Blacktop movie according to the Monte Hellman commentary track. He claims he kept one and drove it around LA for a few months after filming. Got lots of tickets because of the color. |

They should have used it as his car in the show so he could have one upped Starksy and Hutch. His character could have afforded something like this. These cars were dirt cheap at the time. -- Last edit: 2013-07-31 20:14:52 |
