That isn't a caterpillar 60. It's an RD-7 caterpillar, the forerunner to the D7 |

This is not an RD-7, this is an RD-8, the oil bath air cleaner was mounted in front of the operator on the dashboard of the RD7 because the 4-cylinder D8800 engine was not long enough to accommodate the air cleaner on the side of the engine, the RD8 was powered by the 6-cylinder D13000 engine which did have enough room for the air cleaner to be mounted in front of the starting engine |
